How to Log Out of Gmail app

It’s important to log out of Gmail on some devices.

While you might have no problems staying logged in to Gmail on your home computer or phone.

it’s probably best to log out of Gmail when you’re done using it in other places like on a public computer or on someone else’s phone.

Fortunately, it’s easy to make a habit out of logging out of Gmail.

Even if you do forget, though, you can still log out of Gmail remotely or even stop a device from using your Gmail account should it get stolen or lost.

Sign out on your computer

1.Open Gmail.

2.In the top right, click your photo.

3.Click Sign out.

Sign out from another computer

If you forgot to sign out of your email on another computer, you can remotely sign out of Gmail.

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. In the bottom right corner, click Details  Sign out all other web sessions.

Logging out needs to be done in Settings:

1.open Settings

2.scroll down to Accounts & Passwords, tap on it

3.tap on your Gmail account

4.delete it from there

This will just remove your mails and account info from your phone, it will not delete the account as such.

To log out of the Gmail app,

1.tap the menu button at the top right,

2.tap your account name at the top (where your email address is),

3.choose Manage accounts,

4.tap Edit at the top-right,

5.for the account you wish to remove, choose Remove.

Steps to Remove or Sign Out of Google Account on Android

1.Open your device Settings.

2.Scroll down to “Accounts” or “Accounts and Sync”. 

3.On newer Android devices, look for “Cloud and accounts> Accounts” or “Users & accounts” under your phone settings.

4.Tap “Google” and select the Gmail ID.

5.If you own a device running Android Oreo, tap the account you wish to remove from your device.

6.On the next screen, tap the 3-dot menu icon or “More” option (on Samsung devices) found at the top-right corner of the screen. 

Then select “Remove” or “Remove account” option.

7.On newer Android devices, you’ll see the “Remove Account” option right after selecting the account to remove.

8.Just tap the option and you’ll successfully remove or sign out of your Google account on your Android device.
