How to Delete All Emails in a Gmail Account

If you want to completely delete every single email message in a Gmail inbox you can do so through the Google Mail web client, and this tutorial will show you how to do just that.

How to Delete All Emails from a Gmail Account

Only delete all Google Mail email messages if you are absolutely certain you never want to see, use, access.

1.Open your web browser of choice from any computer

2.Go to and login to the Gmail account you wish to delete all emails within

3.Click the little select box pulldown option near the top of the Gmail inbox

4.Choose “All” from the dropdown selection list to select all email messages on the current Gmail screen

5.Wait a moment and you will see a notification at the top of the screen saying something along the lines of “All 50 conversations on this page are selected.

choose that latter option to select every single email in the Gmail inbox

Delete all email from a folder

1.Make sure that the Folder pane is expanded. To expand the Folder pane, click the arrow at the top left of the pane.

2.In the Folder pane, right-click the folder that you want to empty, and then click Delete All.

3.When you’re prompted to move everything to the Deleted Items folder, click Yes.

4.All the selected items are now in the Deleted Items folder. See Empty the Deleted Items folder to permanently delete them.

To delete all the messages including those in Spam

  1. In the Gmail search box type in:anywhere then enter or click on the Search button.
  2. Select all messages.
  3. Send them to the Trash.
  4. To delete all messages in Trash at once, click the Empty Trash now link directly above the messages.


Follow these steps to delete more than one email at once or to even delete all of your Gmail emails in bulk.

1.Open the folder of emails you want to remove in Gmail.

This step is important because you have to be viewing all the emails in that folder in order to select multiples.

2.Tap the icon to the left of an email you want deleted in Gmail.Another way to select the first message is to press and hold anywhere on it.

3.Continue selecting the icon next to any other emails you want to remove from Gmail.

There isn’t a way to immediately select every single message in the folder.

While this would definitely be helpful for deleting all Gmail emails at once, you can’t do so from the Android app.

If you need to remove every single email in Gmail, you have to access your account from a web browser.

4.Tap the delete icon from the top of the app.
